Pattie Barnes

Through comfort measures that include calming meditation, family awareness and trusted communication, Pattie Barnes seeks to support families to reach their desired goals for their birth.

She believes in honoring the family heritages of those she supports and strives to implement the values each of them hold dear.  

​

Pattie was a public school educator for 22 years, embedding education at the core of all she does. While recently earning her credentials as a doula, she has served as a birthing partner for friends and family the last ten years.

​

Pattie loves the entire birthing process, and specializes in providing a calm presence and comfort care.  

 

"My approach includes meditation, environment setting and stress reducing wholistic strategies to help mothers reach the oneness with their bodies that promotes an enjoyable delivery."  

After working with Pattie, families have noted how her presence alone was calming, reassuring and encouraged them to make it through a physically demanding and stressful time with ease.  She has a nonjudgemental approach to serving families and ultimately she is there to serve you. She will ensure you are educated on the birthing and healing process, and share how they can use me as a resource to reach this place of peace.

Pattie resides in Anne Arundel county, and is the mother of two young adult sons, who has also suffered the unfortunate loss of a stillborn daughter.  

Because she has so much experience working with children that present with all levels of learning and abilities, she also appreciates the importance of pregnancy, birth and postpartum life stages. Pattie is excited to join parents on a journey of education to bring their children into the world.
