Benefiting Black Maternal Health

The Womb Room at the Keswick Castle

Description:

The Womb Room is excited to announce our Craft Fair on December 7th from 2 PM to 7 PM at Keswick Castle. Enjoy live music, delicious food, and unique creations from local artists and vendors in a festive holiday atmosphere. Entry is free, but we kindly ask you to register in advance to help us ensure a smooth experience for all. This year’s Craft Fair is dedicated to benefiting the Black Maternal Health Fund, a crucial initiative that directly supports Black mothers in need of Womb Room services. Black women face significantly higher rates of maternal mortality, being three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than White women. These disparities stem from systemic issues like implicit bias in healthcare, delayed treatment, and unequal access to quality care. Additionally, Black women experience a higher rate of preterm births compared to other ethnic groups. By attending the Craft Fair, you are helping to provide essential services like prenatal and postpartum support, access to doulas, and mental health resources for Black birthing individuals, ensuring they receive the care they deserve. Your participation supports our mission to improve maternal health outcomes and create equity in care for all. If you're an artist or vendor, we invite you to join this event. Reach out to discuss showcasing your work and contributing to this important cause. Let’s come together for a day of creativity, community, and support for Black mothers in need!
