Shamella Joy helps new parents and parents-to-be through the challenges and uncertainties of fertility, loss, postpartum, and parenthood.
"Having been through the fertility process, I know just how scary and difficult it can be. I wish I had someone there to explain things to me. I hope to be that support for someone else."
Shamella is passionate about helping her clients feel supported in their unique experience of fertility and parenthood, and believes in the importance of quality postpartum care. Bringing a new Baby into a family can be a very confusing and challenging time. She enjoys bringing her professional support & knowledge to help families access the resources and skills they need to thrive.
As a therapist and group leader, Shamella Joy supports clients through processing and healing from Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, Fertility struggles, Pregnancy Loss, and the many complex and varied experiences that come along with becoming a Parent.
As an LMSW, Shamella is currently practicing under the Supervision of a Board Certified Social Work Supervisor, also specializing in treating those with PMAD's & other Reproductive Struggles.

Previous Experience as a Therapist for Veterans with PTSD due to Sexual Assault, Pregnancy Loss & Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders
Trained by Postpartum Support International & The Department of Veteran Affairs
Currently working toward completion of a Certificate in Fertility Counseling

Shamella Joy accepts Cigna & BCBS insurances, and is otherwise Out-of-Network. Superbills are available for clients to seek reimbursement from their insurance companies.
