About Megan Yount
Perinatal Mental Health Therapist
Megan Yount began her journey into maternal mental health after her own experience with Postpartum Depression following the birth of her son in early 2021. Becoming a first-time mom during the height of the pandemic was an isolating and overwhelming experience, but it also sparked her passion for helping other mothers feel less alone. What started with joining a virtual postpartum support group quickly grew into a deep commitment to supporting moms and couples navigating the complex transitions of parenthood.
Megan specializes in working with individuals managing depression, anxiety, and OCD during the perinatal period. She has received advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Thought Disorders, as well as in infant grief and loss. In addition to working with moms individually, Megan also enjoys supporting couples as they adapt to the changes in their relationship and intimacy after having children.
Her path to becoming a therapist was an unexpected one—she originally planned to pursue a career on Broadway until a required Calculus course changed her trajectory! That twist of fate led her to discover Social Work, and she hasn’t looked back. Megan is grateful every day for a profession that allows her to witness growth and healing in others.
When she’s not working with clients, you can find Megan moving her body—she’s a certified Personal Trainer, Run Coach, and Yoga Teacher—or chasing after her energetic almost-five-year-old. She’s also an avid reader, with a particular love for mystery novels.
