Mother/Daughter Birth Story Workshop

with Emily Souder, LCSW-C, PMH-C

  • 75 US dollars
  • The Womb Room at the Keswick Castle

Class Description:

We all have a birth story. Many of us take the time to reflect on our birthing experiences, but less of us have heard the stories of our own birth into this world. What if you had a chance to be guided through telling the story of your own birth experiences... alongside the person who gave birth to you? On Mother's Day weekend, we're celebrating moms in exactly this way. Taking time to reflect on and share your birth experience is a cathartic and healing opportunity that not many are gifted. As we recognize this can be an emotional experience, we will do this with the support of a licensed therapist, without judgement, gently honoring the emotions and memories that arise. All feelings and experiences are allowed here, no matter whether your birth was one of pure bliss, or a time of great challenge. Bring your Mama, do some reflective writing and, share with others - if you desire to. We'll have tea and scones during a break in the middle (please let us know when you register if you have any dietary restrictions and we'll do our best to accommodate them). Participants will practice visualization to facilitate with grounding and keeping energy moving, and will walk away feeling a deeper full-circle sense of their life story. Each participant will receive a paperback copy of Birth Story Brave, Reimagined, by Emily Souder, LCSW-C, PMH-C. May 11th from 12:30-4pm - $75 total/Mom + Daughter or Birthing Parent + Adult Birthed Child :) ----- Emily is a licensed therapist in Maryland who is certified in perinatal mental health. She is also an intuitive Reiki practitioner She published her first book guiding readers through birth story reflection in 2017, and published an updated version in 2021 (Birth Story Brave, Reimagined).
