Class Description:

Part writing workshop, part support group, The Written Womb will offer a safe, communal space to explore emotions about pregnancy and parenthood through writing. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with fellow parents while exploring the complex themes and emotions in writing about pregnancy and the postpartum experience. Writers who wish to do so will have an opportunity to share their work. A brief mindfulness exercises and body awareness will be incorporated into the workshop to promote comfort, peace, and a nurturing environment as we confront the complicated feelings and revelations that writing about parenthood often brings forth. Saturday, June 8th from 12:30-2:30pm This workshop is designed with new and expecting parents in mind, Writing the Womb is suitable for participants at all stages of both their writing and parenting journeys. Wear comfortable clothing and bring paper, laptop, phone or other device on which to write. Space is limited - register today! ----- Claire Taylor is a writer, mother, and licensed massage therapist specializing in pregnancy and postpartum treatment. She is the author of a children’s literature collection, Little Thoughts, as well as multiple chapbooks, including, Mother Nature and One Good Thing. Claire’s writing on motherhood has been published in Literary Mama, Scary Mommy, Nurture, and more. Claire’s debut picture book, Benjamin’s Sad Day, is forthcoming from Golden Fleece Press. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Little Thoughts Press, a literary magazine for young readers. Claire lives in Baltimore and can be found online at clairemtaylor.com.
