Our babywearing support circle is designed to provide parents and caregivers a comprehensive understanding of how to wear a baby wrap safely and effectively. The circle offers an opportunity to meet other families, learn from experts, and get hands-on experience with different carrier styles.
I'm new to babywearing. Is this group suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! Whether you're expecting your first child or have experience with babywearing, our circle caters to all levels. Beginners will find the environment welcoming and will gain valuable insights into the basics of how to wear a baby with confidence.
Can I bring my own baby carrier to the group?
Yes, you are encouraged to bring your own baby carrier if you'd like assistance or feedback. However, if you don’t have one or are keen to try different styles, we also provide a variety of carriers from our lending library.
Who are the educators guiding the session, and what are their qualifications?
The sessions are led by Sarah Zimmerman and Deborah Bandos, both Volunteer Babywearing Educators with Patuxent Babywearing. Sarah and Deborah have been babywearing for over 5 and 7 years respectively and received their formal training in 2018. Their expertise ensures that attendees learn how to wear a baby correctly and comfortably.
What does the membership with Patuxent Babywearing offer?
For a yearly fee of $30, members can borrow up to two carriers per month from our lending library. This allows members to experience a variety of carriers and determine which ones are the best fit for their needs, ensuring they understand how to wear a baby in multiple styles.
