About Sydney
Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula
Sydney has been working as a doula since 2019, beginning her journey in Philadelphia with the Philadelphia Alliance for Labor Support. During her volunteer work, she supported people through abortion, loss, labor, and the postpartum period—often serving as the only support person present. Her commitment to ensuring access to compassionate, judgment-free care has shaped her approach ever since.
While living in Philadelphia, Sydney studied anthropology at Temple University, where she developed a strong interest in human growth, development, and birth. She later attended the Midwives College of Utah, taking courses in lactation, anatomy and physiology, advanced herbology, and other foundational midwifery studies. During this time, she became certified with Cornerstone Birthwork and began supporting her own clients.
From Philadelphia, Sydney moved to upstate New York, traveling frequently to New York City for births and supporting families locally in the postpartum period. In June 2024 she returned home to Maryland and immediately began serving families throughout Baltimore City.
Sydney also offers personalized herbology counseling for pregnant, postpartum, and non-pregnant clients, creating individualized herbal support guides based on each person’s needs, preferences, location, and access to resources.
Originally from Annapolis, she now lives in Baltimore City near Patterson Park. At the heart of Sydney’s work is advocacy. Her early volunteer work connected her with people navigating complex circumstances, stress, and medical trauma, and she carries that commitment into every client relationship.
Outside of her doula work, Sydney is passionate about fiber arts, sewing, watercolor painting, and boxing. She is deeply rooted in her community, known by many neighbors through her work as a doula, nanny, sewist, and barista. Sydney is dedicated to continuing her education, expanding her skills, and finding meaningful ways to give back through service and support.
