About Zainab Chopra
Birth + Postpartum Doula
Originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland (a small town with the perk of being near Ocean City!), Zainab now calls the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore home. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Education from St. Mary's College of Maryland. After spending the majority of her career as a teacher, Zainab feels this next chapter—supporting families as a doula—has been a natural evolution of her lifelong commitment to care, connection, and advocacy.
With over 10 years of experience supporting families as a nanny, teacher, and mentor, Zainab brings a calming, grounded presence to the birth and postpartum spaces. She has trained as a doula through an immersive international program and continues to expand her learning in areas like prenatal yoga, childbirth education, and herbalism.
Zainab offers both birth and postpartum support and tailors her approach to meet each family's unique needs. Whether she's providing hands-on comfort measures during labor, emotional support during a tender postpartum night, or helping parents feel informed and empowered, Zainab shows up with deep compassion and a nonjudgmental heart. While she’s drawn to holistic, natural approaches, her foundation is rooted in evidence-based care and honoring each client's values, choices, and autonomy.
At The Womb Room, we are inspired by Zainab’s “why”:
“To me, community is everything—and being of service is a privilege. As a brown woman in the LGBTQ community, I know firsthand how powerful it is to have someone in your corner, especially in medical spaces. Birthing people deserve to be deeply seen, respected, and celebrated—and I’m honored to hold that space.”
Zainab’s mission is to help you feel deeply supported and connected—to your body, your voice, your partner, and your baby. Her hope is that every family she works with walks away feeling more confident, more heard, and more at home in their journey.
A little more about Zainab:Zainab is a nature lover at heart—the ocean is her happy place! She's a self-described homebody who delights in the cozy comforts of life: home-cooked meals, baking new recipes (especially ones tied to her culture), and long, chatty hikes with friends. She’s always eager to grow, learn, and try new things—both personally and professionally.
