Perinatal Mental Health Therapist
I enjoy working with girls and women across the full spectrum of reproductive life—from adolescence through older adulthood and menopause. I offer pregnancy and postpartum support, including for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), NICU parenting, birth trauma, the transition to motherhood, parenting stress, and balancing personal and professional life after baby. As a therapist, my style is energetic, encouraging, collaborative, and empowering. I strive to create a safe haven of support and empathy while fostering hope and healing. I use an integrated, strengths-based approach to teach skills and strategies you can carry with you beyond our sessions.

About Danelle
Perinatal Mental Health Therapist
After facing personal challenges during and after the births of her children, Danelle Buchman was drawn into the world of advocacy, becoming active in the paid family leave movement. With a background in community organizing and public health, she has worked for various nonprofit organizations and volunteered with groups like MomsRising and Emerge Maryland. These experiences inspired her to pursue a Master of Social Work while living overseas with her family.
Although she initially leaned toward macro social work, Danelle discovered a deep passion for clinical work and the transformative power of supporting women one-on-one. She now blends her advocacy roots with her therapeutic practice, believing that personal empowerment and systemic change go hand in hand.
Danelle currently serves as the co-Chair of the Maryland Chapter of Postpartum Support International. As a therapist, her approach is energetic, encouraging, collaborative, and empowering. She creates a safe, empathetic space for healing and growth, using integrated, strengths-based techniques that equip clients with practical tools they can carry beyond their sessions.
A Maryland resident of over 20 years, Danelle also spent seven years abroad in Germany and England with her husband and children, visiting over 30 countries during that time. She enjoys traveling, reading, walking her dog while listening to podcasts (her favorite is You're Wrong About), and staying engaged in her community through volunteer work at her children’s school and continued involvement with Emerge Maryland.
At the heart of Danelle’s work is a commitment to social justice and a belief in the power of helping women find strength and confidence in their own voices.
