Comfort Measures for L&D Nurses

Are you a Labor and Delivery nurse who wishes you had more tools in your toolbox to help keep patients comfortable during labor? This interactive workshop gives L&D nurses practical, evidence based comfort techniques they can immediately use on their unit. Through demonstrations, hands on practice, and discussion, participants will learn a variety of comfort measures that support physiologic labor and improve the birth experience for patients and families. This workshop is taught by Kristie Graybill, a Certified Evidence Based Birth® Instructor who is widely respected in the local birth community for her approachable teaching style and deep knowledge of labor support. Participants will also explore common barriers nurses face when providing comfort measures in hospital settings and discuss strategies for integrating these techniques into everyday clinical care. This workshop is designed primarily for Labor and Delivery nurses, though doulas, midwives, childbirth educators, and other birth professionals are also welcome to attend. Location The Womb Room 417 Benninghaus Rd Baltimore, MD 21212 Participants who complete the evaluation and quiz at the Professional or Super User booking level will receive a certificate for 3.5 nursing contact hours from Evidence Based Birth®, a continuing education provider for the Kentucky Board of Nursing (#7-0081). These hours may also be applied toward many doula and childbirth educator certifications. Participants will: • Review the evidence supporting comfort measures in labor • Practice a variety of hands on comfort techniques • Explore strategies for overcoming barriers to providing comfort measures in hospital settings Booking Options Basic Booking $150 per student Audit only.
