About Heather
Birth Doula
Heather's experience as a doula is deeply rooted in community care and relationship-based support. She currently serves as a volunteer doula and President of the Baltimore Doula Project, where she supports both clients and the ongoing work of sustaining and growing accessible doula care within the community.
Over the years, Heather has supported individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in a variety of settings and circumstances. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed, autonomy-centered care, and she is especially passionate about creating supportive environments where people feel respected, informed, safe, and fully themselves throughout their journey.
Heather supports clients through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with grounded, compassionate, and adaptable care tailored to their individual needs and values. Her care is rooted in trauma-informed support, informed decision-making, emotional presence, and helping clients feel safe, respected, and connected to their own intuition throughout the process.
She provides both practical and emotional support, whether that looks like comfort measures during labor, postpartum care, advocacy and education, or simply creating a calming, nonjudgmental space to process experiences and be fully seen. People often come away from working with Heather feeling more supported, empowered, and trusting of themselves and their choices.
In addition to her doula work, Heather's background in caregiving and documentary photography has shaped the way she connects with people during vulnerable and transformative moments. These experiences have strengthened her ability to remain adaptable, emotionally present, and attentive to the unique needs of each family she works with.
Heather lives in Columbia, Maryland, with her husband, their four growing tween/teen children, and a lively collection of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters. Outside of doula work, she is a documentary photographer and artist who loves slow mornings, laying in her hammock, biking long paved trails, Diet Coke, dried mango, and building meaningful community around shared care and a vision for the future.
