About Shayla
Full Spectrum Doula
Born and raised in Baltimore, Shaylah is a postpartum doula, Reiki Master, and holistic healing practitioner dedicated to supporting women as they navigate the sacred transition into motherhood. She began her doula journey in 2021 through Mom’s Cares in partnership with DTI, and has supported families through birth and the postpartum period, including four postpartum clients during the height of the COVID-19 restrictions when doulas were not permitted in many hospitals.
Shaylah specializes in holistic postpartum care with a focus on womb wellness, energetic balance, and emotional restoration. Her support weaves together nurturing postpartum care, Reiki healing, herbal support, and mindfulness practices. She blends intuition with evidence-based methods to create grounded, restorative experiences where women feel seen, supported, and safe to rest.
Her path is deeply inspired by the generations of women in her family who instinctively served one another as community doulas long before the term existed. She carries that legacy forward with compassion, intention, and a belief in the power of softness and community.
Shaylah currently lives in Baltimore with her high school sweetheart — now her husband of nearly 20 years — their two-year-old daughter, and their beloved cat. She finds joy in solitude, tattoos, quiet lofi cafés, and tending to her plants and flowers. When she’s not holding space for others, she can be found reading; her current favorite is Their Eyes Were Watching God.
Her dream is to one day open a healing house for women — a sanctuary where mothers can gather, restore, and nourish themselves in community. Everything she does is motivated by her daughter and her belief that women thrive when they are supported with love, kindness, and devoted care.
