About Carolina Carbajal

Perinatal Mental Health Therapist

Carolina has been in the mental health field for over 12 years. She was first exposed to perinatal mood disorders while helping survivors of crime and sexual assault. Carolina's work has brought more attention to perinatal mood disorders and the role of helping parents and families navigate their experiences in healthy ways by providing support, guidance, advocacy, and access to available resources.

She has training in trauma-informed care and draws from various orientations in her work, such as person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, multisystemic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Her clients express feeling heard, understood, safe, and hopeful when engaging in a therapeutic relationship with her.

Carolina is a first-generation Hispanic female born and raised in Silver Spring, MD. She lives in Baltimore, MD, with her son, husband, dogs, and bunnies. She loves and values family and hopes to expand her family, earn her Ph.D. and continue working in counseling and maternal mental health. Carolina's journey in navigating motherhood, work, family, and school has motivated her to pursue and break the stigma around perinatal mood disorders.

Carolina is most passionate about supporting those struggling with all forms of perinatal loss, and those newly adjusting to parenthood.
