About Kéla

LCSW-C

Kéla has long been motivated by a desire to create affirming spaces for Black women throughout their perinatal journey.

She lives in Pasadena, Maryland, with her husband, their son (born in 2024), and their dog. Deeply committed to service, Kéla is a member of a maternity community advisory council, working to address disparities within the Black birthing community. In her free time, she enjoys playing games, watching K-Dramas, traveling with her husband, and painting pottery.

Kéla’s connection to the perinatal community began four years ago when she started teaching prenatal yoga. Creating supportive spaces for Black women in her classes felt deeply meaningful and inspired her to expand her work as a perinatal therapist. Since then, she has been intentional about centering her clinical practice around supporting the birth community, seeking out opportunities for growth and connection along the way.

Kéla takes a warm, non-judgmental approach, helping clients and students trust themselves and lean into their inner wisdom. She incorporates mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, and person-centered techniques in her work.
